About RE/COACH
Andrew R. Hersam, RCP has spent more than three decades transforming people, organizations, and brands. In 2017, he founded RE/COACH — a recovery coaching center of excellence built to help business leaders and their families navigate the complex process of change and restoration.
Guided by the mission to “inspire and enable individuals to improve their lives and the world around them,” RE/COACH has become the premier provider of discreet, confidential executive recovery coaching and consulting for alcohol and substance use recovery.

Nationally available and locally based in Connecticut, New York City, Vail, and Aspen, RE/COACH partners closely with high-performing clients — from entrepreneurs to C-suite leaders — across industries including law, medicine, finance, media, technology, real estate, and hospitality.

Every engagement is grounded in The RE/COACH Continuum — a proven framework for sustainable transformation that guides clients through structured, strengths-based phases of growth. By combining professional insight, lived experience, and business acumen, Andy and his team help clients recover, perform, and thrive — not simply returning to balance, but expanding into their best and most effective selves.

Andy's a motivational leader who brings out the best in everyone.  Andy's ability to stay ahead of the pack and deliver best-in-class results comes from his unique ability to build and maintain real and lasting relationships..."

Bouker Pool,  Chief Commercial Officer, USA Cycling
In addition to supporting the clients of leading clinicians in New York and Connecticut, Andy regularly partners with nationally respected recovery and treatment organizations including O’Connor Professional Group (OPG), Sterling Recovery, The Progressive Institute, The Manor and Silver Hill Hospital.
He is the founding chairman of both The Association of Recovery Coach Professionals (ARC) — an independent nonprofit dedicated to advancing leadership and professional development in peer-based recovery support — and New Canaan Recovery Corps (NCRC), a specialized recovery community model designed to serve affluent individuals and families.
A respected educator and mentor, Andy has trained more than 200 recovery coach professionals in the CCAR and McShin curricula.  He holds the industry’s highest professional credential, Recovery Coach Professional (RCP), and maintains active qualifications across multiple states (CPRSS) and nationally (RCP, NAADAC).
Andy has completed professional studies in Executive Leadership Coaching at Harvard University and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction at Brown University, and also attended Stanford University’s Professional Publishing Program. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from Ithaca College, where he was also recognized as an NCAA Division III All-American.

  “
Whether in dangerous, high alpine conditions or in a boardroom, I know if I’m with Andy, we’ll reach our goals and have laughs along the way.”      Nicholas Freedman, board of directors, Big City Mountaineers
Prior to his success in recovery coaching, Andy’s ability to inspire people to believe in what’s possible was developed during his career as a recognized media & technology executive. He’s held senior roles at disruptive giants like Facebook (FB) and Blackberry (BBRY); Wheels Up (UP) and helped transform brands and businesses like Sports Illustrated, SKI Magazine and Runner’s World.  His brand’s have been ranked number one on Adweek’s Hot List and named to Advertising Age’s A-List.  Hersam was also recognized as publisher-of-the-year by The Delaney Report.
